Linux Services

Linux is a great platform and it can bring a lot of advantages to your organization. On this page you can see a few examples on how Linux can help you.

Of course, the list is far from being complete. And here is where I can help, by investigating and tailoring solutions which would maximise your benefits. More specific, these services are:

  • Solution design
  • Implementations - on site or remote
  • Administration - on site or remote

Why remote services?

Easy: with remote administration services I can take care of your servers over the Internet, so you will pay only for the work really done - instead of paying for a local administrator's empty time.

And it also means that your servers are monitored not only 'from nine to five', but around the clock.

Linux solutions

As I said, Linux servers can play various roles. Here are some examples:

Mail server - using industry-proven software like Sendmail or Qmail. There is also a very whide choice of Webmail, POP3 and IMAP, anti-virus and anti-spam solutions.

Samba server - it can replace completely Windows servers. A Samba server can be your Primary Domain Controller, your file server, your printer server, whatever you need, completely transparent for your Windows desktops. And not only you won't have to pay anymore those Windows server licenses, but you will also benefit from improved performance and greater stability.

Web server - Apache is the most used Web server in the Internet, and for good reasons.

Database server - The choice of database solutions on Linux is very wide: from Open Source servers such as MySQL or PostgreSQL to commercial solutions from IBM or Oracle.

You just have to choose which one is most suitable for you.
